We are always responsive to the direct needs of the people we serve by encouraging aspirations and inspiring ambition through the provision of our in house Volunteer Development Programme that encourages peer support amongst women with physical and mental health conditions as well as caring commitments.
The programme will increase motivation and confidence and enable first steps to employment, as well as providing a supportive environment for those taking early steps towards communicating in English and building confidence to pursue work or education sessions will cover time management skills, CVs and cover letters, college course applications, job searches, interview and workplace skills, as well as mentoring to explore business skills and ideas.
Women will also be supported on a one-to-one basis to explore how to enter education, training or work in a way that is appropriate to life with a chronic health problem or disability.
Throughout this time, women will build strong networks and a supportive community as well as obtain an in-depth employability and holistic support as they continue on their journey towards independence that will enable them to transition from mentoring and training into paid work.
