Community-based and person-centred support to carers living throughout Scotland.
Our support always starts with agreeing a support plan that is unique to each carer and captures their individual requirements and desired personal outcomes. We do not deny the reality that many carers find the world increasingly challenging, but we choose to focus on people’s interests, strengths and dreams yet to be realised.
A support plan may include:
- Connecting with local resources and support networks
- Staying involved in social activities and choosing to try new things
- Maintaining education, work or volunteering
- Building resilience and developing self-help skills
- Building and maintaining relationships with friends and family
Support could be a few hours each week or could be for a whole ‘holiday’.
Support varies depending on each person’s situation, but is always focussed on the agreed personal outcomes. Our person-centred approach means that we always put the person and their needs first.
