Coaching...
We have introduced a coaching service for ex-service personnel who work or study with us to help with the mental transition from military to civilian life. We have collaborated with the Community Interest Group Rock2Recovery to deliver this service.
Please contact R2R Scottish Welfare Office Kenny Watson for further information.

Staff Student Armed Forces Network...
The university has an active staff and student Armed Forces Network in place. The Network is open to any staff member or student who is current or ex service or wishes to support the Armed Forces Community. For further information contact Claire Biggar or view the network remit.
To support students from the armed forces community who are studying with us we have created an Armed Forces Moodle site. This site will give the armed forces student community information about Academic Skills, Student Futures, health and wellbeing and further information about the University's commitment to supporting the armed forces community.

Community engagement and collaborative working
We engage with Colinton Primary School on an outreach programme. A high percentage of the pupils from Colinton Primary School have a family member in service in the local Barracks and we wish to highlight to the children that they can aspire to a university education through various routes (via college for example). We host half day visits to the university for P6 and P7 pupils in the form of various outreach activities and we have introduced new activities for the lower school classes. Please contact Mairi Taggart for information.
Email: m.taggart@napier.ac.uk.
We also work with the Personnel Recovery Centre by hosting ambition sessions with their clients who are using the service of the recovery unit to help reengage with active service or prepare them for transition from service. Please contact Peter Tormey for further information.
Forces Children Scotland is Scotland’s Armed Forces Children’s Charity. The remit is to support Scottish Armed Forces children to enable them to reach their full potential and for some, offer extra support. Edinburgh Napier University has collaborated with Forces Children Scotland to provide information on higher education study options. Please contact Peter Tormey for further information.
