information SERVICE DETAILS

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Scout.

You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.

Scouts take part in a Balanced Programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to know their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents.

It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes Scouts are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities as part of their programme. The emphasis is on taking part and there are a number of badges and awards Scouts can work towards to recognise their commitment and achievements.

Being outdoors is important in the Scout Section and half the Programme is given over to taking part in traditional Scouting skills such as camping, survival and cooking as well as a wide range of adventurous activities, which can include anything from abseiling to zorbing.

The chance to take part in international travel is also important for Scouts and many travel abroad during their time in the Section.

Suitable for ages 10.5 - 14 years.

Fees...

Each group charges a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of running regular meetings. This covers venue hire, insurances and materials for activities. There're sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible. so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to your leader.
