ERCU is delighted to be back in person for rehearsals at the start of its 2021-22 season, having held successful online sessions for 18 months. We are meeting on Tuesday evenings at our usual rehearsal venue, Augustine United on George IV Bridge, but there are now two sessions to accommodate our numbers and allow us to rehearse safely together.
The Edinburgh Royal Choral Union is a mixed choir of approximately 120 voices. We are committed to delivering an exciting and diverse musical programme, encompassing different periods and styles, from new music by contemporary composers.
Rehearsals...
We rehearse on Tuesdays at Augustine United Church, George IV Bridge, Edinburgh, from 7:30pm to 9:45 pm, with a break for refreshments.
Rehearsals usually commence in September and run through until the end of May or early June.
The choir runs training weekends from time to time, when we prepare for performances and hold workshops hosted by professional singers. Such weekends—usually in venues outside Edinburgh--are also very enjoyable social occasions.

If you wish to find a choir in Edinburgh to join, then why not come and try us out at a rehearsal. We welcome new singers in all voice parts throughout the season which runs from September to May or early June. Rehearsals are held weekly in central Edinburgh.
New singers are invited to come along and join us for two or three rehearsals before auditioning with our chorus director Michael Bawtree.
Reduced membership fees are available for those currently (or recently) in full-time education.
