information SERVICE DETAILS

Outreach is a registered care service which provides care and companionship, at home or out and about.

We are here to provide flexible and tailored support that can help you to continue to live well and do the things that you enjoy.

Who we support

Outreach is there for anyone over 50 years old who is living with dementia, is struggling with mobility or has poor health, as well as those who care for them, to give support at home or out and about.

We can provide support to clients living in their own home or in a care home.

Support at home

We can visit you at home to help you keep up with much loved hobby or activity, have a cuppa and a chat, or support you to do things around your home.

As registered care workers we can also assist you with getting up and ready for the day and having a bath or shower.

Support to get out and about

We can support you to get out and about and do the things you enjoy, be that going out for a walk and a coffee or visiting a museum or art gallery. Whatever you fancy doing- we will try and make it happen!

We can also help you to do the things you need to do- like attend appointments or run errands.

As registered care workers we can help with any care and support needs you may have and if needed we can organise a taxi or support you to use the bus.

Support for carers

As a carer, it’s important to get a well deserved break. We can spend time with your loved one at your home or we can go out and about, leaving you to relax in the knowledge that they are in safe hands.

Our care workers can help your loved one with any care and support needs including eating a meal, using the toilet, having a bath or shower and taking prescription medications.

Getting To Know You

We meet with all potential clients at their home before arranging the service.

This is an opportunity for us to understand your requirements, go through the details of how the service can support you and for us to answer any questions you have.

You’re welcome to invite a relative or friend along to this chat.

There is no obligation and no charge for this visit.

Here when you need us

We don’t ask clients to commit to getting the service for any length of time- we can help long term or just as long as you need us. Our visits are a minimum of 1 hour a week.

Visits happen on weekdays between 8:00am and 6:00pm throughout the City of Edinburgh.

Payment

We charge an hourly rate. Payment can be made in a variety of ways. We invoice for the service at the end of each calendar month.

Some clients may be eligible to have their support funded by the local authority or to receive Direct Payments. Contact Social Work Direct on 0131 200
