Options Disability Service – Lothian

We offer short breaks for families where a child or young person (up to 23 years) has a disability.

We support children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, or more complex physical and health needs.

How We Help

We offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role.

During that break, children and young people enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children and young people with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children and young people who stay with us there.

Taking care of a child or young person with a disability can be very demanding. It can lead to unsettled sleep and less time out to relax and recuperate. Our specialist disability services are designed to take the weight off, and provide a package of support that works for you.

Our short breaks can range from a few hours to more extended overnight stays. These can be planned or emergency. We also take referrals from local authorities.
