Our courses support people into work - and beyond!

Our Market-Led Training courses equip people with the skills and confidence they need to move into work. The courses focus on sectors where there is a real need for staff, and we work closely with these job markets to make sure participants gain the skills that employers are looking for.

With support from Skills Development Scotland we’ve helped over 175 people into work in the past 5 years. Our unique model ensures that participants are given support even after they secure a job, helping them settle in to their new career.
Training to help get a job in the care sector.

In these unusual times, the need for excellent, caring individuals to work in social care is greater than ever. With excellent links with a wide range of care employers in Edinburgh, we can give you the skills, confidence and knowledge you need to not just get a job in care but to get the right job and to keep it.

We understand that it can be a daunting process so our one-to-one virtual training will support you to gain the key knowledge you need, helping you with applications and preparing for interviews as well as continuing to support you once you start work.

The training is for anyone who is looking to work in residential, home care or support work. It was designed in partnership with a number of care employers to ensure that the main areas of care that employers are looking for are covered.

These include:

- Information on the types of opportunities available in Edinburgh
- Person-centred care
- Dementia awareness
- Adult safeguarding
- Administering medication
- Infection control and the use of PPE
- Personal care
- Codes of Practice that all carers in Scotland have to work towards

The training is well established and respected throughout the city’s care sector, employers recognise and trust the learning graduates take from the course and we have an excellent record of previous graduates moving into employment directly from the course.
