SERVICE DETAILS
Gilmerton 60+ Group is a Day Centre/Lunch Club that provides a service for local adults and disabled people.
Transport to and from the venue, a hot two course lunch and social activities are provided.
Members are brought to the Group in a fully accessible vehicle operated by SEAG and supervised by a trained member of staff. There is a small charge for members.
After lunch the group enjoys social activities including bowling, bingo, dominoes, art and crafts and gentle exercise. Occasional outings, tea dances and entertainment are also organised.
Members can also come along just for the social activities.
The group has a dedicated support worker as well as volunteers who are available to help all members.
Costs...
£10.00 per day which includes lunch, transport, membership and refreshments.
Referrals...
Members are referred to the Group by Social Workers, GPs, Health Visitors, family and neighbours.
Referrals are made through the South Edinburgh Referral & Resources Panel which allocates Day Centre/Lunch Club places across the Liberton/Gilmerton Ward area to match supply with demand.
