Home Support – being delivered over the phone currently to encourage looking after own home and maintain independence.

We know that when you are living with HIV and Hepatitis C you will have bouts of ill-health. When these happen, simple day-to-day domestic tasks can seem overwhelming.

Like many of those who approach us for Home Support, you may feel quite isolated in your home and could do with seeing a friendly face.

At these times our Home Support volunteers can step in to offer you assistance and a bit of company.

We can help you with setting goals to tackle isolation and sustain independent living. We can give you a hand with cleaning, de-cluttering, gardening, food shopping, basic DIY and other household tasks. Volunteer teams will also help you feel better connected to the community around you.

We offer Home Support on both a regular and one-off basis.

Home Support can help to improve your quality of life by providing a someone to chat with, giving you a helping hand with cleaning, and helping you to access to healthy, wholesome food. Many of our service users have seen improvements in their relationships with their family, friends and neighbours as their living environment has improved.

We can help you with any of the things below:

- Building links to your wider community
- Helping you set and achieve goals for the upkeep of your home
- Giving you regular contact with friendly people
- Cleaning your flat
- Decluttering
- Going to the supermarket
- Emergency food boxes
- Painting
- Gardening

If you are affected by HIV or Hep C, live in Edinburgh or the Lothians and are feeling isolated or struggling with domestic chores, gardening or basic DIY then please contact us online by phoning us on 0131 225 4766. We will endeavour to meet all requests once they have been assessed by a member of Positive Help staff.
