COVID-19 UPDATE...

Please note that applications for the ETASS programme for 2021/22 are not being considered. The next application process will begin in January 2022.

The Edinburgh Talented Athlete Support Scheme (ETASS), formerly known as the Performance Athlete Scheme (PAS), is a City of Edinburgh Council and Edinburgh Leisure funded programme that represents a strong and unique partnership between talented young athletes, National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB’s) and the Scottish Institute of Sport Network (SISN). ETASS aims to provide support to athletes by providing a balanced programme that enhances the opportunities for them to reach their potential in their chosen sport.

Edinburgh Leisure help athletes in their training through subsidised access to gyms, swimming pools, fitness classes and various other sporting facilities throughout Edinburgh.

There are two performance level categories which athletes must be recognised in to qualify for the Edinburgh Talented Athlete Support Scheme:

- Athletes supported by sportscotland Institute of Sport network (SISN)
- Young athletes, aged 8 to 25 years, demonstrating high levels of sporting performance

Edinburgh Leisure and City of Edinburgh Council are committed to supporting our promising athletes of today and our stars of tomorrow and this project is one of the ways we do this together.

To qualify for the Edinburgh Talented Athlete Support Scheme athletes must either be resident in Edinburgh or a member of an Edinburgh-based National Governing Body affiliated sports club. Access to the Scheme is through a nominations process. Nominations can only be made through the sportscotland Institute of Sport network and National Governing Bodies of Sport (recognised by sportscotland).
