information SERVICE DETAILS

Who can benefit from counselling?

If you are struggling with an issue or life event that just won’t go away, then it may be helpful to access our confidential Central Counselling Service.

All are welcome - as a church-based service, all our counsellors are Christian by faith, but those of other faiths or of no faith are welcome to use the service. We seek to be a helpful presence in the heart of the local community that is accessible to all.

What happens when you apply?

One of our trained team of counsellors will meet with you initially to chat things through and then you will be matched up with a counsellor to start your counselling journey depending on your availability and the length of the waiting list.

Opening Times

Our service operates Monday - Thursday and sessions are by appointment only, at an agreed time between counsellor and client, within the following hours:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Wednesday: 9:00am - 6:00pm

Cost

Financial contributions are made on a donation basis. Suggested amounts are on a sliding scale depending upon income and range from-

- Unemployed: £15 per hourly session
- Students: a negotiable rate starting at £15 per hourly session.
- Salaried: Sliding scale of £20 - £45 per hourly session

We do encourage all clients to donate where possible but consideration is given to those who are unable to contribute.
