Link-Up Leith is a 2.25-year partnership project between Port of Leith Housing Association (PoLHA), Changeworks, Edinburgh Community Food, Stepping Stones and Manor Estates Housing Association. Link-Up Leith partners support people living on low incomes to have improved life skills and confidence to tackle fuel and food poverty issues themselves.

Within the Link-up Leith project, Edinburgh Community Food deliver cookery skills courses, REHIS training courses and community meals across Leith.

Do you live in the Leith area? Our Link up Leith project covers the Craigentinny, Lochend, Restalrig, Granton and Pilton areas. You can join one of our FREE Link Up Leith Cooking Groups!

One of our Registered Associate Nutritionists, Louise, and Kathleen from Changeworks deliver the Link up Leith cooking and budgeting courses! Our cooking groups are currently all taking place online and are suitable for beginners and children.

Each week we’ll learn to cook a new recipe each week including fajitas, soups, lentil Bolognese, pizzas and chilli. The course also covers topics such as:

- The importance of eating a nutritious and balanced diet
- How to follow a balanced diet affordably
- Meal planning
- Cooking efficiently
- Reducing food waste

Would you like to join our next cooking group?

Please see https://www.edinburghcommunityfood.org.uk/link-up-leith to sign up.

Alternatively, feel free to contact Louise.Cairns@edinburghcommunityfood.org.uk or call 0131 467 7326.

We also deliver REHIS courses within the Link-up Leith project. REHIS courses are designed to improve skill, knowledge and confidence.

The courses that we can deliver under Link-up Leith are:

- Elementary Food Hygiene
- Elementary Food & Health
- Allergy Awareness
- Eating Well for Older People
- Food and Health for Carers of an Adult with a Learning Disability

All REHIS courses are certificated and people report that REHIS certificates are useful in gaining employment.

We are planning lots of upcoming events and activities for this year. Please get in touch with Louise.Cairns@edinburghcommunityfood.org.uk if you are interested in hearing more about the project and plans.
