Through the delivery of our Children’s Health and Wellbeing Service we can offer:

- Expertise and information from a national and local perspective
- Direct support and guidance to families on health rights and supporting children and young people at times of illness.
- Direct support for Hard to Reach families and development of tailored resources.
- Development of information packs, resources and activities to inform and support children, young people and families on healthcare rights and wellbeing.

Improved life experiences through health and wellbeing support

- 1:1 sessions for children and young people in primary or secondary school settings. Sessions focus on managing anxieties around health issues, and practising skills and coping strategies to promote health and wellbeing.
- Support for families on a specific health need such as preparing for an upcoming hospital admission or procedure.

Training

- Training sessions and presentations to Early Years and Additional Support Needs staff on Health-Related Play and Dental Health.
- Presentations to health professionals and students (e.g. nursing and social work undergraduates) on children and young people’s healthcare rights.

Health-Related Play

Health-Related Play Workshops delivered in early years settings, primary schools and community groups.

Face-to-face support can be delivered by Health and Wellbeing Officers based in Lothian. Our Officers are available to help children and young people meet their healthcare needs in partnership with parents, carers and professionals. Please see the regional pages to find out more.
