information DESCRIPTION

Royal Blind was founded in 1793 and is a national charity providing education, care and employment for blind and visually impaired people throughout their lifetime.

Our vision is to make a significant contribution to building a community in which blind and partially sighted people, including those who have other disabilities, achieve their potential and a brighter future.

There are over two million people in the UK that suffer from sight problems and everyday around 100 people become visually impaired.

We never forget that we are only able to continue to provide education, care and employment with the continued help of our many supporters and the generous donations from trusts, companies and the general public worldwide.

Every hour of every day we spend £1,445 directly on education, care and employment.

We operate five distinct services:

- Royal Blind School
- Forward Vision (adults)
- Braeside House (older adults)
- Scottish Braille Press
- Kidscene (baby, toddler, children)
- Learning Hub
