Gilmerton Early Years Centre

Gilmerton Early Years Centre has been providing a service to families in South Edinburgh for over 35 years.

The City of Edinburgh Council service works closely with health visitors, children and family social workers and other local agencies in providing group care and support for young children and their families.

Gilmerton Early Years Centre is a City of Edinburgh Council establishment, and is part of Children and Families. The centre offers a range of services, including group care for children aged up to 5 for both fee-paying and supported families. The centre also offers a range of groups and community initiatives for families with young children.

The centre offers holiday activities, parents' groups, baby massage, PEEP groups, Bookbug events and many other activities and sessions to support the needs of children and families in the community.

The centre has a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is wonderfully designed for the kids, and has rooms for both babies and toddlers to play in.

It has an indoor playroom as well as an enclosed outdoor play area. Activities including song time, snack time, painting/drawing/playdo/reading time.

So much to do the kids love it.

It is a drop-in centre for all children from 0 - 5 years and their carers.

It has a principal teacher and a nursery nurse so a great way to get wee ones used to a nursery atmosphere which makes transition easier for them.
