DESCRIPTION
Our Edinburgh service offers emotional, social and practical support to adults who are vulnerable and who feel isolated.
Contact Point is a mental health resource centre that provides a range of meaningful group activities, such as the Art Group and Swim & Gym. Contact Point aims to help your personal development and signpost you to appropriate community resources.
The centre is run by trained staff who can offer you solution-focused, one-to-one support by appointment. Additionally, Contact Point offers volunteer opportunities with skills related to the group activities programme.
Contact Point runs a weekly open day for people to come and check out the service and what’s on offer.
Key aims:
- Help people understand how their own and other people’s mental health can be improved
- Provide an informal service which meets the needs of individuals and groups by encouraging social opportunities and one-to-one support
- Help people give and receive support by drawing on their life experiences and ways they have managed their own mental health
- Being open to learning from service users’ own life experiences
- Encourage service users to use and visit sports and leisure centres, museums, galleries, cafes and take part in local walks and lifelong learning
- Encourage service users to have a say in how we run the service.
Opening times:
Monday and Thursday: 2:00pm - 8:00pm
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10:30am - 4:30pm
Sunday: 11:00am - 4:00pm
