information DESCRIPTION

We give young people the chance to fulfil their potential and make the most of their lives. Last year we helped 14,000 of Scotland’s most disadvantaged children, working in partnership with local authorities and other agencies. We help transform the lives of thousands of children and young people each year and we've been doing so for more than 60 years. With 87 services across Scotland, we are in the communities where you live and work.

Edinburgh EH1 (EASE)

Our youth justice and intensive family support services help young people who have been identified as being involved in or at risk of offending. Our services are tailored to address the level of risk and need presented by young people.

We offer the courts and children’s services high-quality support, providing constructive alternatives to custody for young offenders and substance abusers.

We offer:

- Intensive support to reduce the number of young people who have become involved in serious and persistent offending.
- Alternatives to custody to provide high-quality, robust community alternatives which reduce offending.
- Remand youth justice fostering to provide intensive fostering support for young people who would otherwise be in custody or secure care.
- Voluntary throughcare/resettlement to provide support to young people who are in or have recently been released from custody, to minimise the likelihood of them re-offending.
- Access to employment to re-engage young people farthest from the labour market with employment.
- Diversionary services to support young people to make positive life choices, diverting them away from anti-social behaviour.

It is our core aim to support young people to get back into education, training or employment. We help them to maintain supportive relationships and avoid barriers that stop them from achieving, such as substance and alcohol misuse.

We want to help young people turn their lives around – for the benefit of immediate families and local communities, as well as for the young people themselves.
